Ancra Cargo

Interior Architecture- Large Scale (>5,000 sf)

Project Narrative

Ancra Cargo is an industry leader in cargo handling and securement systems. With a singular focus of designing and manufacturing the best and most innovative shipping equipment, the Ancra family takes a great deal of pride in the work they do, and it was important for the spaces to reflect this ethos.

Previously located on multiple sites, leadership secured a 150,000sf facility in Hebron, KY to merge workplace and manufacturing into their new headquarters. The plan included a 25,000sf office space and a separate 4,000sf machine shop for R+D, with the remainder dedicated to manufacturing. Special attention was paid to scale as the program was spaced over a single floor, nearly 150 yards in length. The entry (with showroom truck bed), central breakout zone and café acted as spatial anchors and as opportunities to create overlap between manufacturing and operations staff members. These locations were adorned with custom designed and fabricated metal panels mounted to the walls that incorporate the pattern language from their logistics panels. Additional branding opportunities include the use of Ancra straps in meeting room ceilings and café booths to further connect employees to their work.

This top-of-market facility now reflects Ancra’s brand of bold ambitions and will allow them to take their organization to the next level.
