Boone County Bourbon Press Club – Great American Ball Park

Interior Architecture- Small Scale (<5,000 sf)

Project Narrative

The Cincinnati Reds determined that their underutilized working media space behind home plate would serve as an excellent location for a premium area with great sight lines to the field. MSA Sport converted this space into the bourbon-themed “Press Club”, a high-end and exclusive club area with a mixture of seating options. All-inclusive food and beverage options, including a stocked bar with a broad selection of bourbon, beer, wine, and spirits adds to the premium experience.

Inspired by the Boone County Distillery Co., a recently revived distillery with history dating back to 1833, the entryway to the space sets the tone for the space. Guests enter the Club through a doorway shaped like an actual bourbon barrel that transports them to another time.

Inspired by the nostalgic idea of a mid-century library, the converted new space’s interior design pays tribute to the history of the writing press and pays homage to the original use of the space by journalists and other media professionals. Richly textured materials and patterns are juxtaposed with dark wooden details and highlighted by mid-century modern inspired lighting fixtures.
