Stagnaro Distributing

Interior Architecture- Large Scale (>5,000 sf)

Project Narrative

Beer is business at Stagnaro, one of the tri-state region’s largest distributors. Located in a non-descript industrial warehouse building, their Kentucky offices had not been updated in more than 30 years. The inefficient maze of offices was no longer conducive to their modern business needs, which are rooted in collaboration, communication and a fast-paced fun environment. An under-utilized mezzanine storage level was reclaimed to account for the growing business.

A large atrium with a communicating wood stair was inserted, connecting the first floor to the mezzanine level which now houses office space. A 2-story living wall anchors and centers the atrium, providing a natural respite in the midst of the surrounding warehouse facility. The addition of a custom marquee-style sign fabricated from aluminum cans and MDF creates a striking and unique branded element. The Stube, a large flexible meeting room used for training and entertainment, is clearly visible immediately upon entry to the atrium. Corrugated metal paneling and polished and stained concrete floors represent a subtle connection to the warehouse.
