This ancient factory is a restored relic, hidden among trees, down a winding riparian road. Cartridge brewing is a warm gathering place within this storied structure, a local landmark. In the brewery, history is left raw and exposed. Huge gnarled concrete beams march overhead among a cathedral sawtooth ceiling. A delicate lattice of steel windows lines the perimeter, framing forest views. Modern design interventions are restrained and subordinate to the historic shell. The palette is neutral and polished – black metal and warm wood. Simple rectilinear forms define zones for entering, dining, and drinking. The design aligns with the maxim for Cartridge Brewing – “Honoring the Past, Brewing the Future”. The modern moves speak softly, letting the historic structure sing.
