Project Narrative

Johnson Investment Counsel, a leading Midwest wealth management firm with a 60-year legacy, sought to create a best-in-class workspace that reflects their values-driven approach and supports their strong culture. The project aimed to modernize their existing West Fork headquarters and expand their Kenwood office, creating environments that attract top talent, enhance client connections, and promote employee well-being. Based on insights from the employee engagement process, our team collaborated closely with Johnson to develop future-forward spaces that tell the company's story while offering diverse settings to meet the dynamic needs of the growing organization. While maintaining brand consistency, the design of each location used its unique architectural strengths, resulting in distinct yet cohesive aesthetics. The new employee-centered workspaces focus on enhancing engagement and productivity through thoughtful design. They provide branded experiences for both visitors and staff, reflecting the company's heritage while fostering innovation and collaboration. The redesigned offices feature areas for socializing, learning and celebrating, strengthening connections across multiple locations and boosting employee retention.
