JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMC) wanted to enhance the visitor and employee experience at their 1.75M sf Corporate Center in Columbus, OH. Included in the first phase of renovations are amenity spaces such as a new lobby, Welcome Center, café and Conference spaces. These spaces celebrate the legacy and future of JPMC while emphasizing the local community.
Visitors are greeted with a large reception desk positioned in front of an impactful wood backdrop with halo-lit logo. The adjacent Welcome Center invites you to explore what the Columbus campus and region have to offer.
Entering the cafe, visitors are immersed in local flavor. A large map of Columbus highlights locations of local farmers’ markets using playful produce icons. Reclaimed wood from local barns with hand-painted stenciling adds warmth to the space. A local artist photographed the nearby North Market to capture colorful images of produce, emphasizing JPMC’s commitment to the local economy through their support of Columbus artists. Hand-drawn illustrations add to the cozy, comfortable dining setting.
The final amenity in this phase is a large Conference and Training Center for employees. A feature graphic, attached to an operable partition, shows imagery of Columbus with an overlay of the skyline. Just opposite the wall, a map of the city, created from back-painted glass and overlaid metal laminate, is surrounded by more reclaimed wood. This mixture of sleek modern materials with warm accents allow the site to express the duality of the city’s casual but innovative culture.
