From the start, Social restaurant was a project at the confluence of many of our passions in our community. Partnering with local organizations (CityLink Center and Findlay Market), as well as local builders, there was a unique opportunity to collaborate on a pioneering dining experience in the heart of Findlay Market. The central mission of Social is to combine communal and shared fine-dining with an in-house culinary training program to provide real-world work experience to those who have not been afforded career opportunities. An artful Brand Identity Guide was developed in tandem with architecture to include logo, font types, and informational cards to highlight the mission to patrons. The resulting restaurant and brand is warm, relatable, and tactile, brought to life through thoughtful and sophisticated detailing. Oversized custom wood tables invite large gatherings and encourage conversation and shared meals. Botanically-inspired murals and artwork add depth and layering. A handmade light fixture brings soft light and anchors the front dining space. The bright and tall front dining space is contrasted by a rear alley lounge space with richer, moodier atmosphere to serve cocktails and late-night bites. Both spaces are connected by a long corridor which opens view into the central kitchen via large windows, allowing patrons and staff visual connection.
