VEGA Americas Business Center and Advanced Manufacturing Facility

Project Narrative

Looking to develop a new North American headquarters to manufacture their innovative measurement technology, VEGA Americas set out to create a campus that would support the company’s product development and growth strategy while reinforcing their German roots and values. The site in Mason, OH, provides a location for the company to create a new business center and advanced manufacturing facility, offering visibility to the community as well as additional space for future expansion.

The 233,000-SF facility maximizes exposure and drives a strong connection to the environment. The Training Lab is located prominently to provide insight into internal activities for people passing by. The site landscaping includes native plants and trees that buffer walking paths, an event plaza, and open areas for recreation that are accessible to all employees.

The line between the building’s office and manufacturing spaces is blurred to foster collaboration and create a positive workspace for all employees. Two sloped roofs highlight the building’s entry lobby and training lab, where the company showcases products and instructs customers on their use. An inviting stair connects the dining space to the collaboration and break areas above. Employees also have access to a fitness center and game room. All employee work areas have access to natural light and views over the surrounding landscape. The manufacturing area has north-facing roof monitors, providing ample natural light to the assembly areas.

The interior environment achieves a clean and refined aesthetic. Natural wood finishes and a sophisticated color palette tie back to the company’s German roots. Polished concrete floors bring the industrial aspect of manufacturing into the office space. Large-scale graphic elements throughout the facility convey the company’s purpose, values, and legacy.

The VEGA North American headquarters facility promotes employee wellness while showcasing a contemporary aesthetic for advanced manufacturing.
